Another “Pets of Portland”

Charles G. Waugh, Portland’s celebrated portrait photographer, is creating a coffee-table book of 150 pets as a fundraiser for DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital.

The hard-cover book will contain serious, fun, silly, and moving portraits of pets from the Portland area.

Anyone can get their pet in the book by donating $100 to DoveLewis, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. DoveLewis is the only not-for-profit hospital in the Northwest devoted to emergency and critical care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

After completing the ‘Kids of Portland’ book for Doernbecher, Charles has turned his artistic eye to pets. Living on 3 acres with 2 dogs, two cats, 7 ducks, and his wife (in ascending order of importance), he loves and understands pets, their owners, and the deep emotional bond that develops between them.

Our pets are not some thoughtless addition or accidental accoutrement to our lives, they easily become our lives and our best friends. Celebrate that bond by having your pet in the Pets of Portland coffee-table book. By donating just $100 to DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital, your pet is guaranteed a full page in the book. An additional $25 donation gets you your very own copy of the book to grace your own coffee-table.
